VIEW PROJECT

SUMMARY
The Trail Blazer, a news media outlet that covers news for Morehead State University and all of Eastern Kentucky, approached my Graphic Design II class requesting a new logo. They wanted something more to represent them, compared to just the captialized "TB MEDIA" they previously used. I completed the project with 2 finalized logos to present.

IMPLEMENTATIONS
#1
LOGO 1 - FLAME, QUILL & EAGLE
My first logo concept actually started with the idea of a flame. I wanted to play off of the idea of "blaze" in a more literal term. This concept ended up being combined with two other ideas. The bald eagle, an abundantly found bird in Eastern Kentucky and also the mascot of Morehead State University, was tied into the design. Lastly, I also incorporated a quill pen as the wing of the bird to represent the news outlet.

LOGO 2 - EAGLE INTO QUILL PEN
My second logo was developed around one of my earlier concepts, having an eagle and a quill pen. I really enjoyed the look of using the feather of a quill pen as the wing of the eagle, so this led to me using the tip of the pen as the talons of the eagle.

LOGO 3 - EAGLE NEWSPAPER
My last logo concept for this project I stayed with the idea of the eagle, but instead of a quill pen I wanted to create around a newspaper. This would be a direct correlation to the news outlet, creating a unique symbolism of both the eagle and the paper.
